TE Bubba Franks?
I think if the Packers let him go, Favre would probably retire because he\'d be so po\'d. Yeah, of course I\'d like to see him in NO. I hate thinking about these kind of possibilities, because the Saints rarely, if ever, go for the big names in FA.

Better than what we have? Are you joking me? The guy pretty much only plays in the redzone. Nevermind probably just inside the 10 yard line is this guy effective. The guy manages to catch 30 balls a year so therefore he is NOT better than what we have.

You know, having a legit TE would really open the passing game up for the receivers. I recently heard Steve Young say he would rather have a great TE over a receiver. Of course, Michael Irvin took exception to that.

Yes it would open up the offense, if we had someone who could get him the ball

TE Bubba Franks?
How the heck can he open up the field if he\'s utilized mostly in redzone situations? He will likely command at least 2 million per season. Can you really say he\'s worth it catching 30 balls a year for 300 yards? Not to mention he\'s very slow.
Boo Williams 8 starts, 33 catches, 362 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Bubba Franks 14 starts, 34 catches, 361 yards, and 7 touchdowns. So please don\'t say he\'s a legit TE because he plays in GreenBay with Brett Favre. If you really want, you can compare the 2003 numbers too and Boo out performed Bubba in every aspect. There is a difference between great and good TE. Great is Tony Gonzales, and Bubba is by no means 6/10th of the player he is. Like in every other thread, money needs to be addressed elsewhere and definately not the TE position. Conwell, Boo, Hilton and Hall will be fine. No need to waste or getting into any type of bidding war for this guy. [Edited on 22/2/2005 by papz] |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

papz -
Okay, you\'ve convinced me to stay away from Franks. I thought he had more catches than that. That does look kinda pitiful. I was only window shopping, though. I wasn\'t quite ready to pull out my wallet, papz. Thanks for the insight.. |
