Murphy - Why? Good returner, dirt cheap
Hawthorne - Should restructure Strief - a good guy to keep as a reserve at OT Evans - Agreed Colston - At 6 million, pay cut or gone Spiller - we wouldn't save anything at all. Cheaper to keep him Ellerbe - Why? When healthy hes a stud. I see a restructure and we keep him. Khiry - Depends on how he heals up Browner - Absolutely. Duh! Brees - C'mon man, really? |

Literally no clue why Murphy would get released? Sure he fumbled the ball once but you need to let him atone for himself.
If we threatened to release a player after a bad play, Brees would be long gone by now. |

Re: New Orleans Saints: 10 players that could be gone in 2016
I think Loomis and the team should try and set some type of all-time record for dead money that can never be beaten by anyone, anywhere, to really put Payton, Loomis and the Saints in the NFL record books.
2016: Drew @$30 mil + 52 guys league minimum = $51,580,000, cap is $150,000,000. That leaves $98,420,000 in dead money for guys either injured or not on the team anymore. At this rate it sounds about right to me, Loomis has already gotten the team a big chunk of the way there. "Make it happen, Loomis!" |

Someone tell me how Drew wouldn't be on the team next year when he comes with a 33 million dead money hit?

It's only $33 million because New Orleans is below sea level. At or above it's only $16 million!!

Maybe talk him into restructuring. We kind of have him over a barrel. Nobody will pay him after seeing how he started his career here. He will have to choose either restructure or sit out. |

Why would Bree's ask for a trade if Payton stays?

Ellerbe, Murphy, Spillers and Evans probably won't be going anywhere. With both the Guard backups becoming FA's I can't see them cutting Evans. Even know I think Colston should be cut I don't believe he will. That would leave us with little to no depth/experience. Strief, Browner, Hawthorne and Robinson are gone. I could see Bush and depending on how he returns from his injury Lewis being traded.

Not just better than any other Saint in history but better than 90% of the qb's currently playing. |
