where is CJ Spiller?

I'm sure this has been covered but where is he? Is Hightower better than CJ? I had high hopes for him and was excited to see him sign with the Saints after we lost Sproles. But he's been a bust so far? Didn't saints sign him for even more money than Ingram?

From what I understand he's struggled to learn the offense and Payton doesn't trust him.

Just another poor signing by Loomis.

Loomis needs to go.

I don't buy that one bit. NFL playbooks are modifications off of each other & I think we don't know how to use him along with Mark Ingram. I will say Spiller has not lived up to his contract however in fairness he hasn't had a chance to prove talents in N O.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

Well, at least he has whats left of this season to prove himself and show what talent he has!

It's up to him now!

GEAUX SAINTS!!

I thought we were gonna see what he's got in him today with Ingram out, instead Hightower cranked it up

Hopefully he showsu shows up soon

Terrible signing. Spiller isnt as good as Spiller thinks he is.

NFL network are now reporting it is "highly unlikely" Spiller is a Saint in 2016 according to sources.

Yea just read that lol. Wonder if that will ignite him. Can't believe he's not better than Hightower

See the progression?

Remember a head coach that took what he had in his first season and challenged for a conference championship?!?

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

How can he do anything if he's either not in the field or not getting the ball? Not that I disagree but I still think it's an injury issue. He looked like a decoy today more than anything. And it led to a TD

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

Looks to me the writing is on the wall, Spiller is done in New Orleans. Seriously, Hightower gets 28 carries to Spiller's 3? Just not looking good for Spiller at this point.

Where is C.J.? Off my fantasy roster, that's for sure,.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

He hasn't been given much of a chance, but he's done virtually nothing with what chances he's had. I don't get why... This guy was a dynamic talent just a couple of years ago, and he's still young. He doesn't look elusive or powerful, or anything positive right now.

I think it's too soon to be thinking about getting rid of him, though. 3 years left on his contract... And I don't think we'd get anything in a trade. They let Ingram plod his way around for 3 years before he ever showed any glimmer of ability.

Well stated :bng:.

I think the Saints would be crazy to get rid of CJ. This guy is a very good player and they will have to pay him one way or the other next season.

If the front off would cut him (which I don't think they will do), that would be a panic move more than anything else.

Side note: For whatever reason he doesn't run fluid. Hips appear to be stiff with little lateral speed. I'm starting to wonder if he is still nursing that off season injury, no?

I've noticed the same thing. This guy was so quick and elusive before coming here, and he just doesn't look like the same person. It's one thing to blame things on the O-line (which isn't hard to do), but you can tell that he just doesn't have it, even when there is a crease. The word you used is exactly what he looks like. Stiff.

It does make one wonder just how healthy he is.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

He can barely change direction when he runs, my dad could elude more defenders than Spiller can.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

Did you see him miss the blitz pickup and got Brees sacked?? That's what keeps you on the bench. He is struggling with the playbook and to me it appears he doesn't trust his knee yet to make cuts. But until he learns the playbook and picks up a blitz before releasing for a pass, his ass will ride the pine.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

He reminds me a Reggie when he was a rookie. Couldn't find the hole with a seeing eye dog. He's struggling with our offense and I place that blame upon him. He'd be in more if he proved during practice he knew what he needed to do.

And a younger Ingram as well... how many of you were calling for his being traded/cut early on?

:stupid: Yeah, what he said.

Re: where is CJ Spiller?

IMO, he seems to lack vision and the ability to make jump-cuts. He seems to always choose the wrong hole to hit and because of that ends up running into a defender more times than not. Usually he just abandons the run and heads over to the sideline for a minimal gain. He also seems to avoid contact whenever possible.

Very disappointing...

Hes been in for only 8 plays all year and one was a TD. Just sayin. Other than that play and one or two more he wasnt even given the ball. I agree its too soon. I think its injury related and it just looks bad with all the other bad FA picks we have had to put him on IR. Which is a dumb move if we could get someone who would actually play.

A lot, including me. I'd still be ok with trading him, if I thought he'd bring any value back. He's improved a little bit, but he's not game changer. I think the biggest thing I've noticed about him as that he finishes runs better than he used to. He was notorious for running into the backs of his linemen and just falling down.

But I don't see where he's a guy that makes something out of nothing. Spiller, for whatever reason, is looking a lot like the old Ingram. But I've seen the guy when he was a star. I'm not ready to quit on that potential after one year, when I watch the crap show that was Mark Ingram, his first three years, as I said before.

I'd trade him in a heart beat, his best season was a contract year besides that he's been a bust
