If its for cheap than that is good. Bellemy is the best safety the Saints have.

3 years at age 33 going into the season? unless it is one of those contracts that never realistically reach the end i dont get it. best on the last ranked D isnt saying a lot. not many teams he could be more than a backup on.

This isn\'t a bad thing... you get a veteran returning, no signs in letting up except drop in INT\'s, Sometimes you give a player a contract doesn\'t mean he\'ll finish it, if he can\'t cut it. I am sure its not a 100 million dollar contract. At SS this was a good sign and one less position you have to worry about filling, I mean unless you want Steve Gleason starting at SS.

If it is above the veteran minimum for \'05, it\'s a bad deal. I\'d be surprised if 4 other teams would even consider that. It\'s time for Mel to get his job back.

don\'t know how I feel about this deal..it\'s not the worst signing..but it really depends on cuts that are made and other signings-if this is our only safety signing-it\'s bad..but he isn\'t a bad player..hows that for walking the line?
