Re: Report: Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia in right foot
We should play the rookie... It would be stupid not to, but knowing this team we'll end up seeing Brees out there or Flynn showing us why he wasn't on a roster less than a month ago.
The fact that Brees was clearly hurt but still left in the game shows my how dumb the coaching staff on this team is. Payton has lost his touch on reality and needs to go. If not for the ring he'd likely be gone already, but we're talking about something that happened almost 7 years ago now... |

I see everyone talking Flynn and Grayson. What happened to Luke in the rotation?

Re: Report: Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia in right foot
They will have to bind Drew on the sideline to keep him from playing, he was having an out-of-body the one game he had to sit out.
It is the smart thing to do, not worth risking permanent injury to his 36 year old body. Let Flynn play and sub in Grayson for some experience. |

Re: Report: Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia in right foot
I don't disagree, but I also don't see this as "throwing him into the lions den". It's more like a live audition to see what the kid has. Playoffs are out of reach anyway so its not like he's carrying the franchise on his back. I don't believe Grayson is ready to be a starter yet, but I'd love to see what he may be capable of doing in a game situation. Just my thoughts......

But we all know, barring amputation, that Drew Brees will be starting the next 2 games. |

Re: Report: Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia in right foot
You all are crazy if you think Drew is going to let someone else start the last 2 games. You can't make the foot injury any worse by playing on it.
It's just how well you can handle the pain. If anything this injury to Drew might make them throw the quick slants that I've been wanting to see since we drafted Cooks. It could also be quite possible this Sunday could be Drew's last home game in a Saints uniform. I bet first beer he plays. |
