So I ask you, why is it that everyone thinks we should go after the cheaper, less talented players instead of fighting for a difference-maker? We have the second most money in the leauge available to us and no one is talking about us going after Charles Woodson or Fred Smoot or anyone with a contract over 3 million for that matter. I don't understand why the Saints continue to settle for cheaper less talented players when they have the opertunity to sign the better ones. :casstet: |

by everyone i assume you mean benson and loomis.
---- oops, checked your link, dont mean to rain on your parade but that was last july. that was a beef of mine, we went into \'04 11mil under that could have gotten a lb or cb needed then. even tho it is a year old stat the principle remains the same tho- cheapass tightwads going for second tier talent. their is/will be cash enough to get a hartwell or SOMEBODY! |

While I am certain that we went into the season with a big chunk of cap available, July 15 was before we started signing rookies. Plus, we signed MM during the season so we lost cap space there too.
ESPN\'s website really has dropped the ball on not keeping that list updated, but I\'ve seen a link posted on this forum with more current information. |
