Our receivers have not showed up against elite secondaries save for Carolina but we face them twice a year.

Arizona shut down Cooks. Where was Snead other than his TD?

If we had a better receiver we would not be having poor first halfs.

How hard can it be to replace this version?

Cooks has fantastic hands

He needs a number one receiver to draw the defenses number 1
Then Cooks would blow the roof off

Agreed, an AJ green type player would work wonders for someone like Cooks.

Better O Line would result in better receiver play. Give Brees time and watch him be himself ; torchin any secondary.

I was excited about Coleman coming into the season. Not so much right now. We'll see how much playing time he gets in the next two games. Still, WR is not high on my list of priorities.

It's not a guarantee the oline will be fixed and pay off next season. Cooks cannot outplay peterson. Oline should be top priority but there needs to be insurance.

I can't do this anymore, Brees will throw interceptions with protection if the receivers don't beat the secondary.

I agree that the O Line getting better isn't guaranteed. Even so, Brees only needs a decent line to give his receivers a chance to make a play since ,as you know, him moving around the pocket is something many QBs wish they could emulate.

Brees doesn't need a dominant #1 receiver. HE never has. It would be nice and all but the fact is: give him a Line, get out the way and watch him work.

Bingo! I still don't understand why this has to keep being mentioned. I agree that a big aggressive number 1 receiver will help Cooks and Snead, but if pressure keeps getting in Drews face, its irrelevant. Now, you can look at it as having that receiver for the future for when we do finally get a beast O line, but who will be throwing to him by then? Much more pressing needs IMO to be chasing a WR with a top draft pick or a top FA acquisition.
