I will get to the next batch tomorrow or the weekend where I can observe Cooper(who plays for my gamecocks and I ended up quitting watching early season on because I knew what was going to happen).

2016 NFL Draft: Matt Miller's Post-Combine Scouting Notebook | Bleacher Report

Interesting notes as always with a little Saints tidbit:

"The release of Marques Colston in New Orleans opens the door for a big outside receiver. I'm told area scouts there have a real liking for Michael Thomas of Ohio State, and could consider him if Sheldon Rankins and Darron Lee are off the board in Round 1."

Safer Picks?

DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson
RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State
WR Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss
NT Jarran Reed, Alabama
DL A'Shawn Robinson, Alabama

Of the three only one does not make me cry, break down and whimper sure.
Darron Lee - Undersized fast WLB? ok i can see it but it is a big reach based on need.

But these two? Would make me break down and cry. All upside and a high risk.
Michael Thomas- route tree? press? blocking? in our division?
Sheldon Rankins - Undersized pass rushing DT?

So the saints will pick the one of the last two and do it to me again this year.

Shaq Lawson seems a one-trick pony bust of a first round pick to me...

We haven't done well with running backs from Ohio State, and Ezekiel Elliott doesn't have a stellar social media record with his coaches, teammates...

My position is clear with regards to Treadwell...

I see the two Bama guys different with regards to positon...

A'Shawn Robinson I see as a NT and will be as good John Jenkins, not worth a first round pick, and will need better players around him as he enjoyed at Bama...

Now, Jarran Reed is someone I could see taking at No. 12 and would be an excellent DE or NT in a 3-4 front;but with Dennis Allen as DC, that's not likely to happen...

Sheldon Rankins has Sedrick Ellis 2.0 written all over him; getting rolled up and out often, leaving linebackers exposed...

Michael Thomas, just not sold, something is just making my spidey-sense tingle that there's something not right...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

This would be a terrible move.

Sorry fellas but the Saints will take either A Robinson, Rankins or Billings with the #12 pick. Edge rusher or a big nasty to clog of that middle. Expect a FA WR signing down the road.

Book it .

Wouldn't be surprised. But what FA receivers will be available? Coleman should have all the opportunities at least if we don't get one.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

Pro days have started.

OLB Stephen Weatherly Vanderbilt

Outside linebacker Stephen Weatherly was the only player from these two schools to get an invite to the 2016 NFL Combine. He ran a 4.61 40 (t-6th)), had 23 reps on the bench press (4th), and had a 31 inch vertical (t-19th). He stands 6'4 and weighed in at 267 pounds. His 34 1/2 inch arm length was No. 1 among linebackers, and would have been tied for 8th among defensive linemen AND linebackers. He appears to be a day three prospect, who could eventually work his way into the starting lineup if he can turn his physical tools into production. He strikes me as a guy who could very well be on Trent Baalke and Chip Kelly's respective radars.

TE Steve Scheu,6046 253 7/FA
many felt should have been invited to the combine, had a good day. Scheu reportedly was timed the 40 in the high-4.6 range; and given that that is likely a hand-timed clocking figure that his actual time is somewhere in the mid-4.7 range. Scheu also has 23 reps in the bench press.

FS R.J. Williamson reportedly ran even faster with an unofficial hand-timed 40 in the mid-to-high 4.4 range which likely translates to somewhere in the 4.55 range. Williamson, who was at the Shrine all-star game, also had a 35″ vertical and a 10-4 long jump

Now for the NCAA all under performance team in 2015

RB D.J. Foster Arizona State
a receiver and running back ran a 4.57-second 40

Devin Lucien WR Arizona State
6-foot-2, 195-pound ran anywhere from a 4.42 to a 4.52.

Vi Teofilo G Arizona State 6030 325 5.17
bench 43 times.

NORTHERN ARIZONA
P/K Ryan Hawkins, who led all punters in the FCS ranks with a 46.0 average kick last fall, though, demonstrated plenty of leg strength as both a punter and kicker.
