Saints to restructure if Payton stays, may turn to Doug Marrone if not

Mickey Loomis, the Saints' executive vice president and general manager, is likely be given a more overarching role, with a perch that takes him out of the day-to-day decision making of the Saints and puts him in a position that further involves him in the NBA's Pelicans, also owned by Benson, and involves assuming more macro-level duties with both clubs (the Pelicans have fallen on very hard times as well and are in need of a rebuild).

Loomis would oversee any transition should one take place, however, and he and former Saints assistant coach Doug Marrone are very close. Marrone, who coaches the offensive line for the Jaguars, is going to be a coveted head-coaching candidate -- he left the Buffalo head-coaching role a year ago, opting out of his contract -- and while interest would hardly be limited to New Orleans, that is a place that appeals to him, and he already is very accustomed to the culture and way of doing business in that organization. He is certainly a very good fit in a spot where, frankly, many others coaches would not be.

Should Payton end up remaining with New Orleans in 2016, there are very likely to be changes coming within the team's personnel structure regardless,
Oh please let that mean that Joe Vitt, Bill Johnson, and Greg McMahon are told to hit the door

Mebbe his plans aren't going to be quite in step with the organization's plans...

Guess I'm just a fair weather fan, but to go from first to doggy doo in such a short time following Einstein's definition of insanity to a tee....

Yea and we all know how forthcoming Payton is with the press, sheesh. What else do you expect him to say?

ON another note after the way our crappy defense got after the QB are we sure we want Marrone coaching here?

This is the US not the UK, you dont have to report the truth here. Apparantly it is encouraged not to.
