I guess I'll ask the dumb question:
Are contracts meaningless? Sean Payton is under contract. He cannot leave the Saints and coach anywhere else unless he is released from that contract. He can walk away from that contract. But he cannot coach anywhere else without the Saints releasing him. BTW Payton already has a clause in his current contract that gives him the option to walk if there is a change in ownership.
