Anyone who even entertained the thought that Payton, or for that fact Brees, were/are leaving have no concept of the dynamics involved. It makes no sense at all for either to leave or to be jettisoned. None whatsoever. It in no way helps the franchise or either individual. This was all media hype. Speculation. Click generation. I have been trying to pound this fact into the heads of the doubters (media shills) here for the past year to little avail. As I have stated before, I used to be "media" and was very turned off by its direction 30 years ago. It has gotten progressively worse as time has passed. I still have many acquaintances working in the realm and their take is mixed depending upon how tainted they have become.
