For better or worse, Sean Payton is here to stay in New Orleans.
Whatever conversations or thoughts or misgivings he might have had about an 11th season with the New Orleans Saints is a thing of the past. If he and general manager Mickey Loomis needed to hash things out, they appeared to have gotten through it. "I'm not going anywhere," Payton said.  With Loomis, Tom and Gayle Benson and several members of the Saints brass looking on, Payton put an end to months of speculation that he could walk away from his Saints contract and start over with another team. "I know it appeared there was a looming decision, but I think this is me saying again ... here I am, nothing is changing and I plan on finishing my career here," Payton said. read more | |
