Besides he had the ankle issues also and i wonder how much that played into it. he dropped to 10 against lions then went to 22 Jags followed by 32 against Atlanta.

He does set a solid edge something Cam does not excel at. Rob Peter to pay Paul kinda thing. look forward to the day they can feed off of one another again. Vaccaro and Browner were not the best combination as back ups. Browner was a huge head ache for Kenny I am sure, despite the tackle totals. That goose egg for INT and only 5 PDs jump out at me. Little to old school SS play IMO. But how much blame can you place on him with Browner play? back on topic

Kikaha production fell but Dennis is old school. stop the run first. get him some help at the second level or try a new combination back there, then i think Dennis will turn him loss again. whatever the reason it worked enough to get some Ws over those final 4 game.

Kikaha is definitely better at attacking and making plays behind the line

Perhaps Cam is not a set the edge defensive end that protects the linebacker....

He's a rush the quarterback every play guy...

And that's my criticism of Jordan....

Well, Denver put on a clinic on how to run the 3-4 defense...

Broncos hoping switch to 3-4 defense creates another Orange Crush - The Denver Post

I honestly thought Carolina's O/L was going to be able to handle Denver, and as the game went on, I kept waiting for Denver's D to run out of gas ... didn't happen,.

15pts on turnovers and a 14pt margin of victory says it all, :).

The way the Broncos interior defensive linemen occupied and plugged up the Panthers running lanes and push the passer's pocket back, right into the outside rushers, well, reminded me alot of our Dome patrol days...

Yes sir.

I give a lot of credit to Wade Phillips. His game plan was masterful. Give me a #1 ranked defense and a punter & you'll have a chance in every game. IIRC teams with top ranked defense are like 11-2 in Super Bowls.

Yes they did. But Carolina's 4-3 looked pretty flawless also.

And Wades 3-4 is really just a 4-3 under, which we run quite often. We just don't have a Von Miller rushing the passer.

This Superbowl showed me that today's NFL is more about speed on defense than in previous years. We need speed. Our 2015 draft is a good start, but we need more.

Strong, Violent Speed, Yes. Agreed.

But we need a big powerful Nose Tackle, which is why I'm banging my drum for us to sign Free Agent Damon Harrison...

The Panthers is the real deal on D however they were going up against a QB with a bad foot and arm. Payton looked like a shell of himself last night. On the flip side that Denver D harassed, embarrassed and sacked a 100% Cam Newton for 60 minutes.

Looking at the Defensive Coaching Staff, only area not upgraded was the defensive line...

Giunta looks like a good mentor for both Dennis Allen and Aaron Glenn...

Wasn't Brian Young's coaching duty changed to "Pass Rush Specialist"?

That's about as much of a position change as you're going to get when we're talking about demoting one of Payton's boys.
