In my opinion I've always found it tough to gauge how good Lombardi is due to one reason - Drew Brees.

Do we owe the way Brees turned into a HOFer into Lombardi, Paytons system or simply Brees' incredible work ethic.

Me personally, I think it's mostly Brees' work ethic, the guy never stops.

I just found it odd to see a guy go from QB coach to offensive coordinator at this level. Normally you'd see a guy like that get experience calling plays in college, or something. It just struck me as a blind folded stab by the Lions to make him an OC. Thought they gave him too much credit for coaching a guy who had already been developed.

Other than that, I don't know what he's capable of. He just hasn't proven it yet.
