I wonder if we could trade him to Seattle for Jimmy Graham.

Wouldn't that require us adding some D coaches who know what they're doing? Is there a limit as to how many coaches a team can carry as it doesn't look like we're letting many go....?

My point was simple. Your example was poor. A guy acting like a maniac, and having video of such left the Saints with no choice. It wasn't their mistake that he turned out that way.

Do you really think if they knew anything prior to paying him that he was like this, that they would have given him that contract? If they knew before and didn't care, what would have changed suddenly? Nothing. They paid him because he was coming off a 12 sack season. At the time, it made football sense. He had proven something on the field.

We're talking about football decisions in here, or did you forget? When someone does what Galette did, there isn't any decision to make, or mistake to admit. You just get rid of him.

Not nearly the same thing as giving extensions to aging, declining players or paying Will Smith like he was Bruce Smith, or all of the free agents they've swung and missed on.

I guess I do have to bring out the smaller spoon.

As I explained in my reply, which I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you did not read in its entirety, I chose that picture because it was fun! :) ...

See? Originally, I was just going to reply with a simple "Galette turned out to be a mistake and yet they released him". But that isn't my style...

...so I went looking for a picture of Galette, thinking I could find one with a trollish grin... and then I came across the Belting at South Beach... so I thought to myself "hey, that's a fun picture for my post!!"

So I posted it.

And I am willing to bet everyone, but you, got the gist of why I posted it.

My example is not poor. My example, again, is Galette turned out a mistake and they released him, at a great cost no less.

And who knows, maybe they knew of the beach incident... but that's another conversation.

Yet, again, you felt the need to reply to one of my comments with yet another poor attempt at sarcasm, because you love me, and with a weak argument to booth.

I am going to let you in a little secret.. well, not a secret, just something you have not noticed... I don't reply to anything you post unless you reply to a post of mine with your usual condescension/poor attempts at sarcasm. Heck, if I see your name, I don't even read what you post because I know where that usually goes. You may want to consider doing the same.

And now, I am going to correct my mistake.

If we used him to his skills(even declining skills) he would be adequate. But we would be better off if he didn't receive many snaps.

The guy didn't get bad overnight. He was a square peg in a round hole from day one. Under both Ryan and Allen we had this guy in many man coverage situations he had no business being in. Hell against Carolina we put him man on Ted Ginn. He couldn't stay with Ginn if he was allowed to drive his car. He is a short field zone guy and nothing more. Have him jam off the line and then shed into short zones and that is all his good for. And that's how Belichik and Carroll used him. If we do the same maybe he isn't the disaster he is. But we used him like he's a typical corner and he isn't. But after his display of maturity and comments we need to cut bait on him regardless of financial impact. He is bad for this team.

Lumm0x, actually he did get bad overnight - it's his age, and it started with New England last season; further, this guy, because of his size, was usually assigned big wide receivers in man-to-man physical bump & run...

He would be useless in a zone as he doesn't have the quickness he once had, if ever...

But you make an excellent point that both Ryan and Allen seem to lack the ability to properly assess their personnel and put them in the best position to succeed, matching Payton's skill at doing the same on offense...

If he does stay they have to move him to safety. He can't cover wideouts.

He is not going anywhere. Cap hit is too big. I say move him to Safety and let him fight for a spot there. He is to slow to be a CB. If he can not beat out a UDFA or a cheap backup (under 500K) then send him packing. I would rather have him ride the pine as a back up than eat that cap hit.

He's a physical press CB. That is a completely different skillset than safety.

He'd be a horrible safety, absolutely horrible.

And this is different from him playing CB?
