I love the guy. We need to sign him at all cost, the defense will not be as good if he is not there next year, imo. Hopefully he ment it when he said he'd give the skins a chance to sign him once he hits FA. And hopefully they will sign him... hopefully.

He's a keeper, whodi.

I feel strongly that the Skins will try hard to hang on to him. Smart, tough, and talented.

If the 'aints, or any other team, ponies up the bucks, they could snag him. He only has one year as a front-line guy, though, but you can't argue about 160 tackles and 2 picks.

Myself, I'm curious as to what some teams will offer...

[quoteMos def want to keep him. Without a doubt.

He's not the most physically gifted player in the world, but he knows his football. Mentally, he could prolly play any position on the D. If you are looking for a legitimate "QB of the D," he would totally be the guy

i`d like him to stay if we could keep him, and release mike burrow
I know a few of these guys pretty well. If there are more responses I will post them.

skinfan81:

Antonio Pierce was nothing more than a backup before this past season. We signed Michael Barrow to take over for Trotter for the season, but Barrow\'s knee problems thrust Antonio Pierce into the starting lineup, where he took command of the defense and played well enough to be a pro-bowl alternate.

I think he got stiffed on the Pro-Bowl voting, because Trotter won, but that\'s another story. He played great, and I hope that we are able to bring him back. He will command quite a bit of money though.

I haven\'t gotten any negative posts back so I think we are pretty good with taking a strong look at him. And like I said, he prob won\'t cost as much as Hartwell or Bell. I hope the Saints are thinking about this, but prob not.

MoTitlesForGibbs:

AP is the quarterback of the defense. He must stay. I think he is more valuable then Smoot. If we keep AP and get a healthy LaVar for the year, watch out. The only thing the Skins are lacking is a solid pass rusher.

According to that maybe the Skins would trade for our man Howard

But since Pierce has only started one year, maybe we can get a pick too. They have to sign him first though cause on the 2nd he will be a UFA. We can just go after him free and clear and still get something else for Howard, but it ain\'t a bad idea at all. I really like this guy and Skins fans have nothing negative to say about him. We need more intelligent football players on our D.

Yea is is a very smart FOOTBALL player. The Skins #1 goal this offseason is to sign him to a long term deal and obtain a defensive end. He\'s not going anywhere. Another player who when got his chance, seized the moment.
