New Orleans Saints' dead money situation; possible free agent targets: Twitter mailbag
There's good news and bad news.
The good news is that Graham's contract is off the books. The former Saints and current Seahawks tight end counted $9 million against New Orleans' 2015 cap. He carried the highest dead money of any of the former players. The bad news is that Galette will count $12 million against the 2016 cap. He's by far the highest piece of dead money. Brodrick Bunkley counts the next highest at $1.6 million, via OverTheCap.com. Erik Lorig is the third highest at $500,000. Now this is sure to change when the Saints make some moves leading up to free agency. But there's no question Galette is the biggest dead money anchor weighing down the Saints' cap for this coming season.
