What will be considered a success?

Most Saints' fans have high hopes for free-agency this year. I definately think we need to make a big splash in free-agency this year.

But, what's it going to take to make fan's happy?

How many players do the Saints have to sign and whom?

Ed Hartwell from the Baltimore Ravens or Kendrell Bell from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If we get either one of those guys I would be satisfied.

How 'bout the rest of you?

I\'ll be happy if they get two players:

(1) A big name OT. I like Diem (I don\'t know if he\'s still available) or Womack.

(2) A big name LB. I like Hartwell, but I\'ve recently begun considering getting an OLB instead of a MLB. I\'ll get back to you after a bit more looking (or argument from B&Gers).

After that, I\'m pretty happy.

Definitely would like to see Kendrell Bell here, plus an Olineman. Then, make some smart picks in the draft, but please don\'t go Dline again with the first pick.

We are still talking about Hasbeen and company here , a group that could take the Pro Bowl squad to Texas and get their butts whooped in a High School game .......

Free agent hope list :

1 Ball bustin , run stuffin MLB
1 Gazzelle with great field vision , who brings the wood OLB
1 West Coast type passer QB
1 Nasty no chit takin mountain on the O line OLM

I fear we probably don\'t have the cash at our disposal to grab a bunch of FA\'s and sign our draft picks, too. But, gimme a healthy Kendrell Bell and maybe one of the better OT\'s available and I\'ll be satisfied (and frankly, surprised).

Yeah, I answered a quote with a quote. Incidentally, I was watching the combine on NFL Network earlier, and they cut to a shot of Haslett and Mora in the stands. They were laughing about something and didn\'t appear to be paying any attention to what was going on.

It was the QB 40-yard dash ... that\'s all I\'m saying ...

My first guess would be , they were laughing at the fact that Hasbeen and Company still have a job .

I can hear it now :

Mora : I came over from San Francisco and they expected me to take a bunch of half wit players and turn them into Pro Bowlers

Hasbeen : Damn in New Orleans , all I have to do is take a bunch of Pro Bowlers and turn them into half wits .....Ha Ha Ha

Hey, 08, just out of curiousity, what players do you think are probowlers?

I don\'t think I\'d be upset if they took a DT in the first round, depending on what they do in FA. I think we need a vetran LB and a stud OT; if we get those, BPA is just fine with me in the draft (unless it is a DE).

F.A. wish list...

1 OT

2 CB

Draft wish list...

1 SS

2 LB

3 CB

4 QB

In order of priority..If we got just those picks...quality guys...We would be much improved...

F.A. wish list:
1 OT
2 OLB

If we can fill one of the positions with one of the big names, I would already call the free agent period a success.
