this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Marc Bulger is a great answer! LaRoi Glover is too similar a tackle to Young. They\'re both very good but, without Hand stuffing the run and taking up two blockers each play I don\'t think Glover would have the impact ...

LaRoi Glover is too similar a tackle to Young. They\'re both very good but, without Hand stuffing the run and taking up two blockers each play I don\'t think Glover would have the impact he previously had with us. Yeah, how bout having Hand back in 2000 form? |

If we would have had Roaf at LT with Deuce running behind him, there\'s no telling what kind of numbers Deuce would have put up. Not to mention Roaf\'s ability to keep the best pass rushers in the NFL at bay and allowing our QB time to get the ball to our speedy receivers. |

Willie Roaf and i see the disagreement in some earlier post, but I want him back to this day, and I\'ll bet if you ask Capers he would tell you he wished he had taken him in the supplemental draft.

Bulger eh?? Was he a draft pick they gave up or something? I didn\'t know he was a Saint, It wasn\'t on his player bio?

I think adding Glover to the line with Young would work. You\'d have two high-motor guys always causing havoc. Opposing D\'s would have to double team one of \'em eventually to slow down some of the rush. Therefore, you\'d have the equivalent of a double team that a guy like Hand would draw.

The DT position has gone down the toilet with a few first round picks following it since the releasal of Glover ... |

And it\'s been quite apparant that Gandy was not the answer at LT. He\'s not the worst, but, the last couple of years, Gandy has not done a good job. As far as Glover goes. His loss hurt. But he\'s far from being the \"sole\" reason for the decline of our run defense. We also lost Joe Johnson, Sammy Knight and several linebackers. |

Yeah we drafted Bulger in I believe the 6th round in 2001. We cut him in training camp so he never made the final roster which is probably why it\'s not on his bio.
Hey everybody, Glover would not have the sacks he had if Hand wasn\'t making havoc with the interior of the O-lines. I love Glover and think he\'s a great leader/playmaker/intelligent football player, but if we don\'t have a quality NT, then every interior defender is somewhat hamstrung. |

If you can bring back someone from long ago than Ricky Jackson. If you are talking about someone playing I would say Willie Roaf.
