Re: Bottom of the Barrel: Saints Off Season Moves Grade Poorly
The Saints needed veteran talent and leadership at LB. They got it. The Saints needed a TE. They got a potential play maker. The Saints needed more athleticism at DT. They got it. The draft is now set up where they can take the BPA. And this draft is loaded with defensive talent. Unless they wiff in the draft, the Saints are a better team than they were last year.

For that matter there is a reason San Diego moved on Brees too!

How many FGs did Scobee miss last year? You really believe Scobee is gonna be Hartley 2.0? I don't see it. Either way, Scobee is not going to be a game saver for us. I just don't see it. Forbath can at least make the 50 yard FGs. Scobee may have passed that point now. This is the one signing I hated, as I wanted a young kicker late in the draft like the next Tucker or Succop. |
Re: Bottom of the Barrel: Saints Off Season Moves Grade Poorly
He missed them in Pittsburgh, almost every kicker sucks kicking in Pittsburgh. If Scobee can turn back the clock, maybe they have finally found a kicker

For what one season? He's near retirement. I don't thnk he's as good as Viniaterri.

Re: Bottom of the Barrel: Saints Off Season Moves Grade Poorly
I decided to do some comparisons here............
Scobee vs Forbath in same environments @Philadelphia Scobee(2014 week 1) 1/3 for 49, missed 50 and 36 blocked Forbath(2014 week 3) 2/3 for 44 and 49, missed 33 @Washington Scobee(2014 week 2) 1/1 for 36 Forbath(all season 2014 at home) 10/12 for highs of 42, 27, 31, 25, and 25. He had no FG opportinities against two teams and the two he missed was against the same team, week 11 vs TB. @Indy Scobee(2014 week 12) 1/1 for 28 Scobee(2013 week 17) 1/1 for 37 Forbath(2014 week 13) 2/2 for a high of 29 @Houston Scobee(2014 week 17) 1/2 for 53, missed 51(hit left upright) Scobee(2013 week 12) 2/3 for 30 and 53, had 49 blocked Forbath(2014 week 1) 0/0 missed XP(it should be noted he didn't miss a XP rest of season) Forbath(2015 week 12) 2/2 for 30 and 57 @Denver Scobee(2013 week 6) 2/2 for 50 and 30 Forbath(2013 week 8) 0/0 @Minnesota Scobee(2012 week 1) 3/3 for 19, 27, and 47, had xp blocked) Forbath(2013 week 10) 2/2 for 20 and 40 @Pittsburgh Scobee(2015 week 4) we already know Forbath(2012 week 8) 2/2 for 48 and 45, missed XP @Cleveland Scobee(2013 week 13) 3/3 for 44, 36, and 25 Forbath(2012 week 14) 1/1 for 44 Last year Scobee was 3/7 at home yes. Scobee, however, has never kicked here. He was injured in 2007. With that aside those atmospheres consists of places Scobee has kicked since 2010 that Forbath also has and it's a no-brainer, Forbath is better on the road. We're looking at just our home stats, well we shouldn't be grinding games out at home to begin with. Btw Forbath in 2014 was 88.9 for Washington. How did he suddenly do bad for us? Could it be our special teams? |
