Thanks for submitting your New Orleans Saints questions to me on Twitter. Send 'em anytime @MikeTriplett. Here’s this week's Question of the Week:
@MikeTriplett: I understand your thinking. The Saints certainly don't have to reach to draft a defensive tackle in Round 1 since the depth is so good at that position. But stupid to draft a DT in Round 1? No way. New Orleans should draft its highest-graded player at No. 12 -- as long as it's not a running back, quarterback, tight end or offensive tackle. All defensive positions should be on the table. At No. 12, the Saints should be able to land a future Pro Bowler that they can build their future around. They don't want to get too cute and eliminate the entire DT group from their Round 1 draft board -- especially since that group includes six or seven potential first-round picks. read more |

Re: Defensive tackle remains an option for Saints in Round 1 of NFL draft
Who do yall think the best DT in the draft is? I mean all around, not just pass rush or just run stuff.
I'm gonna take a guess and go with Sheldon Rankins. |

The player to build around I got to go with Reed also but with what we have now I got to go with Robinson. I also like the Penn State guy in the 2nd.

Reed or Robinson.
I heard at the other forum, someone who is friends with a NFL scout said the saints wanted Cravens in the second round. Another said they knew another scout that said saints were wanting Robinson hard. I guess this means we won't be getting a impact receiver then if that's true. |

As long as he isn't a bust like Sedrick Ellis, I'm good with any of the DT's.

If we are truly considering DT a #1, it actually might make sense to drop back 5-6 spots an grab another pick
