The New Orleans Saints are "doing QB homework again" in advance of the NFL Draft later this month, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The team had lunch with Paxton Lynch after his Pro Day workout Wednesday at Memphis, and will have Connor Cook of Michigan State and Nate Sudfeld of Indiana in for visits, the report said.

The Saints met with Lynch at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

It will be interesting to see what the draft brings us. If a QB is taken then I am assuming we wasted a third last year.

The Saints are very smart by doing their homework on these guys. If a potential franchise QB can be drafted then by all means pull the trigger. So far it does look like Grayson was a wasted pick, it does not appear he is ready for even the 2nd QB spot. Mix in the fact that Brees is 37 and on the last year of his contract could make things interesting for sure.

New Orleans Saints: It's always possible, since Drew Brees is 37 years old and the Saints know they'll eventually need to find a replacement. Maybe they'll start drafting one every year at this point. But they don't need to force it since they drafted developmental backup Garrett Grayson in Round 3 last year. And unlike 2015, when they had the luxury of nine draft picks, the Saints have only six picks this year. -- Mike Triplett

If they waste ANOTHER pick on a QB, I will be disappointed.

They could also be playing little games and making it appear like they are interested in a quarterback just to garner trade down prospects. Just saying. It's possible. Maybe that's why they haven't signed Drew yet either. It may be possible that Drew has already agreed to terms and they're waiting. Idk. Payton can be a tricky guy sometimes. Hey...it's possible.

They are showing interested in Paxton mostly to drum up interest to move back. Draft guru!

Drew will be the man in New Orleans for the next three years. We need to find his replacement but not now.

Paxton Lynch would be 2 years min before he is really ready to play.
Connor Cook maybe ready in a year.
Nate Sudfeld is an interesting option. I like the kid
Kevin Hogan is an option if Nate Sudfeld is. Actually like Hogan more than Nate

Good point. But teams would look at trading ahead of us. player hostage is always an option.
