had me giggling with this one

“Concordia is a triple-option team,” Carpenter said. “Literally. Like, old-school Oklahoma, like back in the day with Barry Switzer.”

Actually I heard about this kid. Typical Upper Midwestern scandi. BIg smart and surprisingly very athletic. Lets be honest upper mid west is not known for overly athletic white boys. Heck put a horned helment on the kid and he could stand in for the show the Vikings.

The biggest knock besides level of comp was the system he was in. I would rather start working with a triple option QB than these spread offense types. At least they have a complete read progression. So any ways he goes to the

Hildesheim Invaders works on three- and five-step drops. learning defensive fronts, blitzes, pass protections, coverages, route combinations.

Actually I never considered him then as anything more than a UDFA camp arm in 2014 and I completely forgot about him.

I can not wait for camp and see what this kid has done to his game. You never know we may have signed a poor man version of Paxton Lynch but with a year or two camp under his belt.

Been a while since I had a camp underdog at QB to cheer for.

Why did he play at a D-3 school. Camp arm. Oh, Good Luck.

Kurt Warner was a 'camp arm' at some point wasn't he? I mean I think he was back then.

Anyway, you gotsta look under all those rocks.

Passed over. Motivated. Gets to work with Brees and Payton.

Don't forget to throw Jake Delhomme and Marc Bulger in the "Camp Arm" column too!

Griffin? First name on the back? I'm sure there are lot's of Griffin jerseys around!

He may have a real chance and if he could be like Bree's at his height and power something for Carolina and all the rest to take notice of. A white Cam Newton? After all Purdue is not what I call a powerhouse football team or program.

Well he worked out / tryied out and so obviously there is something they liked.

I don't think you sign a 4th QB at this point in the season. You keep that open for the draft in case you land even an un drafted QB.

Unless it is a ploy that the Saints are drafting one of the QB's in round 1. And if it is then is a beauty.

I wouldn't label that as totally unlikely. Still I would guess they saw traits that they really liked and signed the guy. Should make for an interesting story in camp nonetheless, if he lasts that long...
