Can the Saints not resign the guy? I mean, this isn\'t the first time a team has cut a guy for cap reasons without waning him to leave. Hopefully, they\'ll at least make Pathon an offer. I don\'t think he\'s going to get $3.3 million anywhere else. If not, Henderson or Gardner better step it up. I like that white guy named Black we had on the practice squad. Let\'s throw him in some games. He\'s slow and not real big, but he got open in Preseason, and most importantly, caught everything thrown his way.

I don\'t know... I like Nathan Black better than Gardner. Nathan was consistant catching the ball, always seemed to get open and if not he made some great catches with someone on top of him. Gardner I wasn\'t that impressed with in camp last year.

I really don\'t think Gardner is going to be able to perform consitently at the slot receiver position..he has never given me a reason to think otherwise...

Plus,..just a personal observation...More and more teams are getting better at playing Cover 2 Defense...I\'m not sure if they are taking a page from Monty Kiffen\'s book, from the S.B. year, which I\'m sure many have..and still do...But..I think the recent \'\'Surge\'\' of slot receivers bieng real go to guys..isn\'t a coincidence...The Defenses now are forcing Offenses to have 3 true starter quality receivers, or suffer the wrath of better schemed defenses...and I\'m just not convinced that Gardner is starter quality...or that he ever will be...I hope he proves me wrong...
