Pathon released by Saints
The Saints cleared $3.333 million of cap room by releasing wide receiver Jerome Pathon, who was entering the final year of his contract. Pathon became the third receiver last year when Donte' Stallworth finally stepped up and became the dependable starter the team had expected. Pathon caught 34 passes for 581 yards, but only one touchdown.

oh i liked pathon. sad to see him go. maybe were making a play for someone. maybe were not. i dont know he made a couple of good catches for us last year. well the guy can still play to me i think he will sign with another team

Let\'s just hope Henderson can step up and show us why he was worth a 2nd round draft pick. As long as his hands progress faster than Donte\'s we will be alright.

Dependable... what games were they watching??? Pathon could still be resigned but at a lower amount. I like him to, good guy to have around just not at 3.3 million trillion bazillion dollars.

Pathon played a lot of good games for us..and he always played hard...I will be sad to see him go..

Can the Saints not resign the guy? I mean, this isn\'t the first time a team has cut a guy for cap reasons without waning him to leave. Hopefully, they\'ll at least make Pathon an offer. I don\'t think he\'s going to get $3.3 million anywhere else. If not, Henderson or Gardner better step it up. I like that white guy named Black we had on the practice squad. Let\'s throw him in some games. He\'s slow and not real big, but he got open in Preseason, and most importantly, caught everything thrown his way.
