this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Brees isn't going anywhere. I expect the extension will be a very difficult one to negotiate with his age now a major factor moving forward. We do not need Treadwell or Lynch. We need beastly, durable lineman on both sides ...

Re: Saints held talks for Number 1 Pick
Brees isn't going anywhere. I expect the extension will be a very difficult one to negotiate with his age now a major factor moving forward. We do not need Treadwell or Lynch. We need beastly, durable lineman on both sides of the ball. A Herschel Walker style trade to move up would be suicide for the team after multiple useless drafts.

I just hope Jets or Bills trade up and get Lynch. Don't let Payton and co even think about it.

Just sign Brees already... Age doesn't matter. He performed great last year and we haven't seen any drop off.
Give him 4years 100mil and let's stop talking about it. |

This is public move to say "HEY DREW, WE HAVE OTHERS OPTIONS". That's all.

As long as the guaranteed figure remains the same for Brees it would make no difference to him when he receives it.

Re: Saints held talks for Number 1 Pick
What a Revelation! Teams talk to other teams about "How much for......?!!!!!
NO!!!! NEVER!!!! We all know they "Fly Under The Radar" "Kick The Tires" "See What's Left In The Tank" try to determine exactly who is a "Beast" and lastly see who they can "Get On The Cheap" for the proverbial "Hometown Discount" Just another reason to hate the off season!!! |

Re: Saints held talks for Number 1 Pick
Paxton Lynch. I like him. I'd prefer a pass rusher at pick 12 though. Shaq Lawson or Noah Spence. Hell, I wish we could get two 1st rounders somehow and really improve the defensive line. Still, Lynch is an intriguing prospect to me.
What about Grayson though? |
