Re: So a scout said Peat was not a good pick
OL, a lot of factors. One, they have to work as a complete unit, really gel together and that takes time. Also a young man, he'll get there. He did good, not great but I could see him turning the corner this year. He'll probably get so good we can't afford him at some point.

Re: So a scout said Peat was not a good pick
Again, I know he was a rookie. Even rookies (when they are drafted that high) should be expected to show more potential than others. Nothing I saw impressed me. If we're arguing whether he was a good choice or not (which we are) then he hasn't done anything to suggest he was a good pick at this point, in my opinion. No offense to you, but I just don't buy the excuse of playing RT instead of LT. RT is less demanding. If we're nit picking about footwork, then he has no business being in this league. That's just not a good enough reason. I hope he comes around, but my opinion of him before he played a down with the Saints was that he was too soft for this level.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: So a scout said Peat was not a good pick
Yeah, jury is still out on Peat; but for a high first round pick, he pretty much sucked it...
Seems like those selections from those Pac/West Schools on their own schedule get off to slow starts... Cooks did well, but most seem to be affected with missing those early OTAs and minicamps... Imagine that, rookies missing practice early struggle... |

I judge draft picks after year 2.... Then you can really tell if they have improved and look like they will continue to improve... or if they are a "bust"
