Lawson or Dodd instantly make our defense better.

Those two are the only ones that are true starting 43 DEs which should be available at 12.

Round 2 I'm hoping Billings is there.

That was Cardinal's pick 20 for the Saints' pick 27 and a third round pick in the 2014 draft...

Sometimes personnel decision makers have their man-crushes (Cooks)...

Still don't like that trade... Cooks is good and Likely would have been there at 27, but with how deep WR was in that draft it was foolish to reach. Understandable why that entire scouting department got the axe... So many piss poor drafts by the old crew.

If we could trade back a few places 15-20 range id be happy. What would we get there

Depending on where and how much a team likes somebody a 2nd ir 3 and 4th.

This is one draft i would be happy to throw a future pick at too.

Say trade back to 18-20 then use them extra picks and next tears first/2nd to get back into the late first early second. There is alot of defensive talent to be had this year. Could sort the front 7 out easily

Think of all the times we've seen the Saints trade up when neither they, nor their trade partner were near the top 5. That partner had to trade DOWN with the Saints. So how is it nearly impossible? It happens all the time. It doesn't matter where you are in the draft. If a team wants a player and doesn't think they can get him by staying put, they will trade up.

It remains to be seen if such a scenario will unfold this year, but if it does, I'd be all in favor of it. Nobody is going to be available at 12 who is so awesome that we couldn't afford to pass him up in favor of getting more picks, and a better chance of hitting a home run.

I am not to sure. we could end up at a very sweet spot for the second tier prospects are ready to be had.

Miami is tabbed for a CB and it looks to make great sense. so anyone wanting their pick of CB will be on the phone to us.

perfect trade back and stay in the top 15. thats a 3rd at the least

but in what world do the saints trade back?

glad to see i am not alone.

The guy i wanted was Deon Bucannon, talk about insult to injury that year for me, he ended up with the Cards at 22. Cook I rated as a toy for SP and nothing more.

round 2? SJB instead of Allen Robinson or Jarvis Laundry? I have to stop there. that draft makes me sick still

That was a bad trade and the axe was just.

Hope we learned our lessons well

I love what Cooks brings but i agree ww should never have moved up in that draft for a WR it was so deep.

As you say Robinson,Benjamin, Landry,Brown and Bryant all went later

1) He's a three down player (not a two down run stuffer)...

2) He's not a running back...

3) He's with the team, effectively, for at least nine years...

4) He's an immediate, effective starter...

5) He's not a Pac/West type player that is restricted from OTA's and Minicamps and can acclimate right away...

6) He's not a medical redshirt type and has no medical baggage to limit his start to professional football...

7) And most importantly, He's a football player that loves to play the game and leads by that example...

Sure. And there's this wide receiver, Laquon Treadwell that also fits that description - have you heard of him?!?

Not impressed with the WR class for 2016 but if I had to select one ...Josh Doctson is my choice (not just saying this because he is right down the road in Ft. Worth). Want a WR to get up and fight for the ball one on one? ... JD. A big, powerful strong dude.
