i have only heard that the Saints were not real hot on the free agent linebackers available, less the "they are high on antonio pierce" quote in some thread (and he is long gone).

sedrick hodge is rumored most likely to let walk. but they are gonna get somebody in the draft. i am skeptical- like a cornerback the past two drafts?

i cannot understand how so much faith can be placed in 2 second year guys and allen, who has been tagged as somewhat slow mentally. did the world change that drastically in those last four games?! i looked it up and the opponents still averaged 4.4 yds per carry in those last four games vs. 4.6 for the season overall. less than overpowering michael pittman still ran for 131 yds in game 14 just like rookie mewelde moore, wheelchaired emmitt, and kevin barlow did at the beginning of the year.
they seem to be wanting to try yet another DT to plug the middle. do you ask like i do why the grady jacksons and norman hands leave here and seem to get that job done for other teams? and glover may have been more of a penetration dt and money was a concern. still, he left and was all-pro year after year. so they pick up a journeyman dt or invest another high draft pick in the defensive line. say the middle gets shored up to make do. what then when a rb gets past the line? i am having difficulty not seeing bellamy once again lead the team in tackles- one of the clearest indicators of very weak linebackers. just a little rant here. it's depressing.

It\'s painfully obvious to me that this front office and coaching staff don\'t know jack about what they want or what they\'re doing. It seems to me that with all the talk in this state about the team moving and or losing and going up on ticket prices, these guys would want to get something positive out to the public. It\'s been their MO to keep silent on anything to do with free agency or the draft for years but this isn\'t a normal off season. It seem to me that everything coming out of the Saints organization lately is negative. Maybe they just need to keep their fans a little more up on what they are trying to do in free agency. Give us some hope! As it stands right now, most of us look at this team as the same as it was last year. We\'ve let players go but have yet to even hear about replacements. As I said in another post, maybe they are trying to be the first team in history to attain greatness by exclusion.
This bunch just plain ole befuddles me. With the great Front Office we have it wouldn\'t surprise mwe to hear.

Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt!!!!!
