Re: Saints QB Griffin Neal

Nothing against the kid, but I don't know why people keep writing stuff about him. He is just a training camp invite, at this point. There are long shots all over the place. Neal hasn't won a job, yet. It's nice that he's getting a shot, but that's a lot different from making the roster, or even the practice squad. So what's with all this about him reaching his dream?

Oh yeah. It's still the off season...

The last thing this board needs is a feel good story!!! Bring on the "Why so and so hates Whats A Matter U" articles!! No to mention the ever popular "What If........." scenarios!

Yeah, feel good stories are nice. Only we've heard this guy's story what seems like about half a dozen times already. Is it really that big of a deal that he's getting a shot? The story would be actually making at least the practice squad. All these stories make it sound like he's come in here and torched the competition on the way to doing the unthinkable, by the way they spend so much time talking about him. To me, it's just offseason fluff.

I guess I'm not as easily moved, or entertained as some of you.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I understand the off season is long and boring. It is for all of us. But good hell man it's just a write up on a kid that's trying to live his dream. And I've seen a few articles on him. And I realize that the feel good stuff can get kinda old. But if you don't wanna read it you don't have to.

Not to mention there's really no other news. So yeah.

I didn't read it. But thanks for telling me I don't have to.

I've read some of the others, and at this point, when I see a headline on him, I know how it's going to read. I didn't criticize anyone on here who wants to read it. I'm critical of writers who copy each other, because they either don't know what else to do, or are to lazy to think of anything.

There are long shots EVERY year. This kid is no exception. I stated above in this thread that it's nothing against Neal. But his story isn't really all that unique to me, so I'm wondering why they keep writing the same thing when they could talk about one of the countless other long shots. Micheal Lewis was a great story. He was a beer truck driver, and actually made the team AND was an all pro returner. Write more about him when he does something, that's all I'm saying.

I just gave my opinion, man. If you don't like that, well... Just like you told me, you don't have to read it.

Hey I was a huge Michal Lewis fan. Congrats making yourself look like a dick. I'm the same as you. Just a fan. A fan of all the players..

Hey, Good Luck to him. If you can play, they will find you.
