Maybe they can convert him to a LB.

Just because the Saints have shown interest in a RB does not mean they aren\'t interested in other positions.

The idea is to improve at ANY position possible. God forbid, but if Deuce goes down, Stecker isn\'t an every down back!

I can definitely see a need for a big brusing runningback to back up Deuce. But some people are going to say anything negative about anything.

I know some of you have better opinions on some of these players the Saints are thinking of signing.

Instead, we get to hear comments that don\'t really say much at all.

Whereas Ron Dayne is.

A true statement, but it misses the point. If this were April, and the Saints were looking at Ron Dayne, fine. But when it\'s the first week of FA and the Saints are looking at OG, TE, and RB, I think it\'s safe to say that maybe, just maybe, the team doesn\'t have it\'s priorities straight.

\"He probably needs to go get a new lease on life.\"
Oh yeah - New Orleans is the perfect place to try and start over Ron. He\'ll be 40 pounds overweight and in rehab before training camp.

WhoDat --

Your insight on Ron Dayne is about as useful as lipstick on a pig.. :P

Ron Dayne, while he hasn\'t done a lot with the Giants, isn\'t a bad guy to consider. I seem to remeber a guy by the name of Joe Horn who didn\'t do much with the Chiefs but has done fine here.

I believe Dayne holds the single season rushing record in college. And I wouldn\'t mind giving the guy a shot here to back up Deuce.

Ron Dayne... hmmm, I like having running backs with different styles of running in the back field. Some RB\'s run better against certain D\'s. Not a bad idea at all.

You know what - Ron looked great last preseason. I was amazed when the season started and he didn\'t get more carries. It\'s not whether Ron Dayne is a good backup at RB or not.

I\'ll try to illustrate this another way.

Somebody just shot your dad.
Another guy ran over your mom with his car.
A third person went Michael Jackson on your sister.
A fourth guy burned your house down.
A fifth guy skined, cooked, and ate your dog.
A sixth guy stole a hub cap from your car.

I\'m the police. Great news Billy, we found the guy that stole your hub cap!!!

How excited are you?

That\'s very amusing and all. But it has nothing to do with anything. When free-agency is over and the Saints prove they didn\'t fill any needs ... then holla!

Until that time, it seems you have an axe to grind rather than talk about any of these players like Ron Dayne.

Quit beating us over the head and talk about something..LMAO.. :P

Well I don\'t disagree with the idea of signing Ron Dayne but the timing is all wrong. He will be available later. They should be concentrating on filling holes with starters, not locating capable back ups.

I don\'t know if it\'s just me, but I wouldn\'t even have this dude in for a visit until I\'ve gotten all of my priority free agents signed...then again maybe he is a high priority for the Saints. :casstet:
