I am just pissed that after his third year in Oakland they hired Sean Payton and his defense tanked

I really don't give a crap what system he ran or was forced to run. Bottom line, players were undisciplined, missing tackles, taking stupid penalties, and always out of position. That sh** should be worked out by Sunday, regardless of the 'system'. Not to mention the 18 times we had too few or too many players on the field

This! And if he had a problem with the scheme he should have said something. And don't tell me it could have gotten him fired because he kept his mouth shut and got fired anyway.

If he plays we easily win that game. The system Rob installed was perfect for him but we thought we could find a better fit in Byrd. We are now on the 2nd attempt to replace Malcolm Jenkins. Hopefully we don't make too many more mistakes like that going forward.

Easily win what game? 2013? I doubt it. If 2010, maybe but Brees struggled in that game.

The oline is to blame for 2014's collapse. Saints held the falcons well until they were gassed.

Would those lining up plays be a problem if the players were doing what Rob liked to do? SP should not have been trying to stick his hand in.

Well here is the question I can't shake from everyone claiming a "new scheme" was implemented and that was what doomed RR.

If that is true then what happened year 2?

It would make sense for the Saints to talk to RR about altering the scheme if they felt that year two of his defense was a disaster. The thing I do not get is that everyone is pretending there were not three years with Rob here. Yes, year one we were 4rth in pts and yards, and the d looked great. Next season we were terrible. No one is claiming that year 2 is when the supposed changes were made. It is all about last year, his third season. It makes sense for that to happen because a good many of us wanted him fired. DA was brought in after his second season, when we were terrible. At the end of the day Rob must have been forced to run other people's defenses a lot in his career. In 12 years he has 2 top 10 defenses and (including the 2 top 10 d's) he has 4 top 20 d's. SP didn't coach all of those places.

Lining up was an issue in his first season, if I am to remember back correctly.

The oline had issues last season, absolutely no doubt. To pretend a D that 31rst and 32nd is absurd. They also could not get after the passer. I think we were first in penalties though.

From my memory, yes

2010 we lost every running back we had. That was what happened. We could not run the ball. We had an old Julius Jones as our starting rb. I remember him dropping a pass close to the Seahawks endzone that game. Think it was intercepted.
