I think this goes back to the report by undisclosed sources from last year that he was in Payton's "doghouse" for not learning the playbook.
As far as I know, it was never substantiated.
But you know how these things become "facts".

If CJ is anything close to 100 % this upcoming season, this guy will be dangerous and give defenses fits. He has always had the vision, burst & quickness. Last season he was not only battling injuries but also learning a new, complex offense on the fly. His football IQ is high.

Watch and believe.
