In the comments section someone mentioned that the front office was betting the farm on Kikaha to the the man. That sounds about right. I hope we're not betting the farm on Lelito and Kelemete being our starting guards......just sayin'. Payton is known as a gambler. Sometimes he hits. Sometimes he doesn't. River boat Ron may have the nick name but Sean is much better at calculating his odds and deciding when to roll the dice.
I like calculated risks like Ambush. I don't like inserting these two guards into the starting line up with no proven backups. Both were benched last year for poor play. I like going for it on fourth and goal when the opposition has to march the length of the field to score. However, I don't like gambling when our defense is giving up long scoring drives game in and game out. Sometimes you win when you get cute. Other times you go 7-9 three out of four seasons. |
