Thanks Icee. You know JP and I disagree strongly on this topic, but He's among my fav. posters here, and we
remain in coolness. I chose this board for a reason. : ) With that: You'll never convince me Bum was anywhere near the Saints worst personnel guy, until I hear he drafted a punter #1. He was better than 7 previous coaches, including a flashy one with a super bowl ring, and he crafted a world class defense, which kept performing for us after he left. He treated players with respect, while winning, and for that one should at least concede that he was a good man. As a Houston kid, you just dont know how good it felt to beat the Dallas Cowboys at their home on Thanksgiving Day. And today, Cam Newton is still not dancing in our face, because of the contributions of O.A. "Bum" Phillips. Rest in Peace, old Cowboy friend. |
