I would be ok with it but I dont think we can afford it and I already think we have the best backup QB in the league on our roster. Luke did not miss a beat when he was in last year against a very good Carolina defense. He is hugely underrated.

There is nowhere to restructure. Brees is on the last year of his contract. Any work that can be done would be essentially negotiating a new contract.

Take a read of my 5 or 6 previous posts on the subject if you are interested in understanding Brees' contract situation.

He's better than McNown and Grayson. But, he probably wants too much money and could win a starting job elsewhere.
