All-Time Saints Roster and Depth Chart

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It's the 50th Season of Saints Football... Thought we'd run a thread where we could post what our Saints Dream Team would be with the players in their primes... I'll kick things off... Feel free to quote, copy and paste... ...

The fullbacks listed was way before my time and I know too little about them. Personally I always loved the sledgehammer type of FB Mike Karney was for us.

Hokie, besides being a fan and teammate favorite during, and after his playing career was among league leaders in yards per attempt; he also laid out some devastating blocks, even in practice as Rickey Jackson would attest...

Re: All-Time Saints Roster and Depth Chart

I like the fact that you included some players that a lot fans don't remember.

A few that I think should be there somewhere. Will Smith, Joe Federspiel, Mike McKenzie (definitely), Thomas Morstead, Mel Gray.

Joe Horn should be a starter. Martin was good but Horn was better.

I would be more partial to Mike McKenzie over Fred Thomas, but I'll have to make my own list.

I saw both Hokie and Buford play. Hokie was the better player but unfortunately injuries cut his tenure short.

Feel like Martin faced better competition and the passing defense rules had tightened in favor of receivers by the time Horn played, so I gave the nod to Martin...

Mel Gray is on my list, KR...

McKenzie, yeah I looked at that , but the ones I listed had longer, more prolific Saints careers...

Doug Adkins, Joe Johnson, Wayne Martin and Cam Jordan were/are way better than Will Smith...

I have to say that Eric Martin made The Greatest Catch I've Ever Seen against Philly in 1989 in The Dome on Monday Night. He was triple teamed and John Fourcade threw it up high, he stuck up one hand and snatched it out of the sky for the TD!!
