Of those 3 I\'d be afraid I keep tripping over my tounge trying to get Jammal Brown\'s name to the podium.
He is the only can\'t-miss of those 3 players, IMO. LB\'s 2 thru 6 aren\'t much different potential wise so I\'d wait till round\'s 2 and/or 3 to address that position.

gotta say I agree...What I\'m hoping for is another couple of picks at the bottom of the first/top of the second to stock up on Linebackers.

I would select Brown and hope Burnett is there at #40

my LB rank is working in this direction-

OLB
johnson, top 6 pick
burnett, upper 2nd rd, possibly 1st, probably gone at #40
blackstock, a lot of love him/hate him opinions out there. could be a decent #40
boley, low 2nd maybe 3rd
biased having seen lionel turner play more i do think he will grade out 4th rd

ILB
crowder, too high at #16, gone by #40
thurman, possibly around at 2nd rd choice
morrison, about right at #40 range, could be gone
ruud, more likely still on board in 2nd
mitchell, maybe a stretch up at #40

I\'d take Thomas Davis if those were the choices, then pick up Kirk Morrison in the 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) at MLB. That guy is a beast. Go watch SD State games (or even the senior bowl, he was around the ball damn near every play he was on the field).

Take Brown. An OT who pays off has way more value than a SS; if they don\'t pay off, then they have about the same value.

IMO, Hawthorne is better than Johnson.

I think I would seriously consider trading down and taking one of those two DTs and using our additional second rounder from the trade ;) to get Crowder or Burnett - maybe even package the second we aquire and a 3rd or 4th to get up to get one of them. I\'m bitter that Boss Bailey went only a few picks ahead of us in the 2nd that year!

I wanted Boss too, but he was hurt all last year so I don\'t feel too bad. He has as little value as Cie Grant in that regard. ;)

Then I gotta wonder if you felt Sully was worth 2 no. 1 picks ???

i put rodgers and smith in the safe pick spots at #1 and 3. the more i read the more i think at least one of them will be a surprise fall from the top. possibly both. that would have major repercussions down the board. it\'s kinda fun having more suspense at the top of the charts than the usual write-ins.

for names i think braylon edwards could be the surprise 49er at the top. benson or brown are much surer investments for building than rodgers or smith too. would it be too surprising to see defensive genius crennel pick dj or rolle?

I so totally agree with this statement, but no way he would fall to the third round.
