Joint Practice with Patriots

A lot of what I'm hearing is our D may not be exceptional, but they are miles ahead of last year.

Sounds like they are in better position and thinking less/ reacting quicker.

Other notes

Brandin Cooks beat Malcolm Butler for a long TD
Ellerbe dropped an interception of Tom Brady
Bobby Richardson and Sheldon have both sacked Brady
Breaux and Bell got beat in 1 on 1's but the secondary has tightened up in team drills

Byrd broke up a TD pass to gronk
Ken Crawley has a couple PBU's

+1 & very encouraging to hear. Guys appear to understand the scheme & already making plays and disrupting routes.

Brees is 21 of 25 so far

Just thrown a second TD to Brandin Cooks who beat "guess who"? - Malcolm butler pro bowl CB on a back shoulder throw.

This ^^^ stat is why I didn't read much into those 4 INTs from last practice. Hardly any decline from Brees, if any.

I'm still convinced the 4 ints were our defense getting better

The last one Brees threw was due to him being agitated that the D had his number and forced a play he shouldn't have, which he admitted later.

Brees is his own harshest critic, that's why I'm not concerned in the slightest about him.
