'You got to make them count': Preseason is Saints backup QB Garrett Grayson's stage to prove himself
1 Attachment(s)
Garrett Grayson won’t see the field much when it counts unless catastrophe strikes.
He’ll spend his year throwing passes away from the roars of a crowd or even a set of outside eyes. These next four weeks of preseason are the four weeks that should matter the most to him. This is his opportunity to showcase his abilities to the team, his doubters and himself. And it’s not only important that he showcase his growth to his own team, looking down the road, even if Drew Brees outlasts him in New Orleans, it would help elevate Grayson's stock and put him on the radar for teams around the league. “Going into the preseason games that’s when it starts to count and you have to base yourself off that,” Grayson said. “Every game this preseason will be an opportunity. That’s how I came into training camp, those games you got to make them count.” http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townn...ze=1200%2C1712 Grayson knows his place on the team. He’s said all along that he was happy to come to a situation where he could sit and learn from Brees. He’s also aware that Luke McCown was brought back on a two-year deal, which, seemingly means there’s at least an intention to have him serve as the backup again. But that doesn’t mean he’s going to rest on being the third-string quarterback. There’s a desire to be the best one on the team burning inside of him. This is his stage to prove that he shouldn’t be considered the third wheel. read more |

It all begins tonight ...
Hate to keep beating my :deadhorse2:, but if that interior D line brings their A game this season, our young secondary group could have a lot of success. |

Just saying, if we score more points than they do we win!

How has he been in camp this year? I haven't really heard his name.

REPORTED GARRETT GRAYSON HOUSE FOR SALE. It was reported that he put his house up for sale. I guess Drew Brees is about to sign a new long term deal or maybe we are going to trade him. Quote:

#3 the depth chart.
GG should get plenty of playing time tonight though. |

Well we rarely keep 3 QB's on the roster.
I think this year it is really going to be hard to keep with all the bright spots at WR ect. He'd pretty much have to show progress and that he is capable of being a Number 2 at best. |

If GG doesn't take that next step then Sean Payton may want to use the QB roster spot elsewhere. If we roll with two I imagine Drew is signing long term and GG is not developing the way the Saints expected. If so, we will be eyeballing college QB's the next few years.
