...yeah, he's off to a good start; he should be starting opposite Cooks before too long with Snead in the slot... |

Familiar theme: Turnovers, we beat ourselves with our own mistakes...
There were some bright spots though: DE Kasim Edebali, NT Tyeler Davison, WR Michael Thomas, CB De'Vante Harris, FS Erik Harris, C Jack Allen and RB Marcus Murphy |

i were really impressed with roman harper he can play that olb spot as the best of them. he turned in plays from both spots to not allow any gain. liked what i saw with him. if we go thru another kicker debacle i'm gonna awol. why do we always have kickers that have that deer in the headlights look, practice is bulls%^t when it comes to live action.here we go again.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...m_campaign=nfl Week 1 of the NFL preseason got under way last night, with 12 teams taking the field for the first time. Below is a recap of all six games, highlighting the biggest takeaways from each contest. Patriots 34, Saints 22 QB Jimmy Garoppolo finished the game with an average overall grade, but he also had an adjusted completion percentage of just 61.1 percent, third-lowest among QBs with at least five pass attempts. Still, he found Malcolm Mitchell (Georgia) on a well-thrown deep pass and went 9-for-13 when not under pressure. The big story, though, should be defensive end Trey Flowers’ outstanding performance. In total, he finished with three hurries, a hit, and a sack that turned into a fumble that he also recovered and returned for a touchdown. Jabaal Sheard also forced a fumble, and easily handled the Saints’ offensive line for most of the time he was on the field. [More: See Steve Palazzolo’s interview with Patriots DE Trey Flowers at training camp.] It was a good start to the year for the Saints’ top two draft picks. First-round pick DT Sheldon Rankins (Louisville) beat Shaq Mason for a hit and a hurry, and also chased down a screen pass for a tackle for short gain. WR Michael Thomas (Ohio State) did have a dropped pass, although that was his only bad play of the game. Thomas still caught four passes for 67 yards, and was quite impressive making plays. |

So other than Mark Ingram's gaffe, other starters looked better than last year...

Re: Game Day - Preseason Week 1: New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots
Black and Gold, we do, in fact, have an effective Nose Tackle on the roster...

Re: Game Day - Preseason Week 1: New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots
And Coach Payton seems pretty happy with his new toy on offense...

Re: Game Day - Preseason Week 1: New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots
And the hobbit (Mr. Underhill) underscores Hagan's fears about our offensive line...

Id still be looking at O'Leary if you can get the Cowboys interested. Id offer anything up to a 5th if he would agree to a extension

That bit on Yeldon and Ivory
I watched the first half of that game. The Jags look good. Bortles looks much more mature, made multiple audibles on the line and looked good. Alan Robinson is a monster, looked unstoppable on back shoulder throw. Ivory and Yeldon looked a great one two punch. Going to be interested in watching them young team there. Defense was getting some good pressure up the middle aswell through Jackson |

After getting to watch the game( thanks to K Major) if this is any indication of how our O-line performs Brees will be running for his life. They didn't look good but it was the 1st preseason game and Armstead was out. That type of swiss cheese play want cut it at all. Lelito needs to finish plays instead of putting his hands on his hips well before the whistle blows and Peat better get his act together also, him and Strief got beat like a drum at times but what has me the most was the depth of penetration allowed by the O-line starters, it was bad as a whole. I'm just glad this wasn't a regular season game. Payton has his work cut out for him.

Peat is starting to worry me. I didnt like the pick at the time and he doesnt seem to be ready yet either. Im really starting to think my thoughts that he was desperation pick might have been right. I think the players wanted got nabbed and they couldnt trade out with a good deal so took who they thought would br the best player.
