Game Day - Preseason Week 1: New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots
The New Orleans Saints open the 2016 NFL preseason Thursday night against the New England Patriots. The Saints have participated in joint practices with the Patriots the last two days in Foxborough, Mass.
Drew Brees told the media Wednesday that he would play "a series or so" in the preseason opener, which is typical. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo is reporting that the Patriots plan to sit Tom Brady and let backup Jimmy Garoppolo get first-team reps against the Saints. Garafolo tweeted: "That's been the plan for first half of the week. These things can change late, as they did for Pats' opener in (2015)."  |
