this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; 3 preseason games in and we've exhausted o-line depth. Could be a great weakness this season, for sure....

Re: Peat to LG
After watching the Steelers game for the umpteenth time, Peat actually didn't do that bad. Sure, he lost maybe 1 out of 10 snaps, but honestly, most of the trouble was coming from Armstead/Hills/Lelito. Between the LG and LT.
I also saw at least one run get stuffed because of a missed block by rookie receiver #13. So it's not all on Peat, although it's popular at the moment. Also, this dude John Fullington #73 had a fantastic game at LG and LT, I hope they keep him. He was definitely better than Eulls. Grayson just had a terrible game, which made it look worse than it was towards the end. |

Re: Peat to LG
Coach Payton announced the plan today after evaluating Peat's disastrous turn at free safety this preseason. "Well, we moved him all around the o-line last year, and that didn't work. So since we finally moved on from the Byrd debacle, we thought that the natural progression would be to move Peat to safety," Payton said. "Clearly Peat has shown some growing pains, but the brain trust and I have decided that our inconsistencies at the kicker position should be addressed and that Peat might be a possible fit. We are not giving up on this kid. He will be special... Somehow. At something... I gotta go. Someone get me some f# *&ing Juicy Fruit dammit!"

Re: Peat to LG
I don't think moving him is going to make alot of difference.he hasn't been impressive where ever he has played

Re: Peat to LG
Normally when a LT is drafted high it's assumed to be a safe pick. The reason it is considered a safe pick is that guy should be able to move to other line positions and contribute if unable to cut it at LT. The fact that Peat has not been able to cut it at any position is a very bad sign. I get this guy is young, but he was a very high draft choice and should not be struggling as bad as he is. I am seriously pulling for this kid because he seems to be trying hard, but as of now this is looking like a big time draft bust.
