When was the last time McAfee blocked a punt? It\'s been three seasons running for Gleason....

Hartwell, Gleason, Smoot news
Anyone remember how much better the Special Teams coverage got when the Saints resigned McAfee mid-year, last season? It\'s amazing the difference that one \"ace\" can make. I don\'t know why the Saints are letting Gleason leave, but I think it is unwise.
On LB - I have about zero expectation that the Saints will do anything to improve the position. They haven\'t for 5 years now, why do you all expect it this year? The need now isn\'t any bigger than it has been in the past. Personally, I think it\'s less of a need this season than in past years. That doesn\'t mean that it isn\'t the Saints BIGGEST need - it is. But Allen, Watson, Buckwoldt seems like a better lineup to me than Hodge, Ruff, Rodger (which is what we were looking at this time last off-season). They might sign a guy you\'ve probably only heard of once or twice, and they may draft a guy in the third round, but I wouldn\'t expect much more than that. If they do, great, bonus, but as usual with the Saints - they\'ve way in debt to me in the credit area. I have to see it to believe it. As one writer wrote a while back (I\'m paraphrasing), the Saints bought good will and faith on credit and now the bill is past due. |
