Re: Panthers Are The New Falcons
I can't stand any team that isn't the Saints. My level of dislike for any given team fluctuates depending what a team or player has done to annoy me, or if they beat us. But I don't this laser focus on just hating the Falcons. I want to beat all teams pretty equally. When the Falcons are winning, I do particularly enjoy beating them.
Whenever someone says to me that they have a "second team" they pull for, I lose all interest in talking football with that person ever again. I can't possibly pull for another team. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I actually root for the Patriots and Raiders on occasion when they're televised here, and when they're not playing the Saints.
I used to root for Seattle way back in the Bosworth days, but now...oooooh but now...I hate them on a very personal level. |

I hear that... loyalty is loyalty. Its like saying i have a second wife. There are some teams that I hate more than others but none more than the falcons...they are simply our arch rival. Colts because of the sneaking out of town thing, Ravens for the Brown's move, Browns for calling themselves the Browns AFTER they moved, Jaguars (and too many to name) because there are no Jaguars in Florida, and the Buffalo Bills for naming them selves after a self aggrandizing war criminal (was that harsh?) Arguably the worst mascot in history. |

Re: Panthers Are The New Falcons
I understand wanting your college players to do well. I like to see LSU players do well, unless they are playing the Saints. But I just never find myself rooting for their teams or even disliking the team any less. That's just me. Any time the Saints lose to any team it takes years for the steam to wear off on me when I think about those teams. Obviously they've lost to every team at some point, so I don't care for any of them.

Re: Panthers Are The New Falcons
I have thought this for a while now but if Atlanta is winning like those three years it will be them again more hated for sure. Carolina just right now to me is more hated because Atlanta's luck that they had is no longer with them.

Atlanta has and will always be the enemy, Dallas is a close 2nd but nothing comes close to the hate that I have for Atlanta

Re: Panthers Are The New Falcons
It kinda embarrasses me to say this, but Cam Newton is the only player in the entire NFL that I hope gets injured. Hopefully on one of his silly sideline flops. Or slipping and tearing his ACL on a stolen laptop. I will actually cheer it.
I despise that mother-******. He epitomizes everything wrong with the current NFL, and on a much larger scale society in general. Yeah, I probably need some anger management counselling. Until then... sweep the leg!!!! |
