LUTZ

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Everyone think about this: Lutz kicked the **** out of that last field goal attempt. Had plenty of leg but couldn't have been closer to a 61 yard field goal. We came close to winning and no one even Bradshaw ...

Lutz kicked the **** out of that last field goal attempt. Had plenty of leg but couldn't have been closer to a 61 yard field goal. We came close to winning and no one even Bradshaw (biggest homer of all) thought we would win it. We wouldn't be talking about any of this stuff if he would've made it and I think coach made a great decision to sign him! LUTZ IS NO PUTZ!

Re: LUTZ

I'll still wonder, if we kept forebath would he have made the 50 yrd FG earlier? The 61 yard fg wouldn't have mattered...

Re: LUTZ

I like the Lutz signing. It's better to roll with the upside of a young kicker than trotting out a journeyman. If you find the right guy you can be set at the position for the next 10-20 years.

I stated in the game day thread yesterday that the missed FG resulted in a short field for Oakland & subsequent score.

Momentum shifted after that.

Re: LUTZ

hmm who missed a field goal and then later got us into a SB ? Who was that guy ?
Im really starting to think though of why SP kicked a FG there and gave the raiders field possition, knowing our D was not doing well. should have punted

Re: LUTZ

Forbath isnt exactly clutch from 50 yards 4 of 7 in his career

Cant Blame Lutz for yesterday.
Robertson stupid late penalty
The defense dropping off playing soft in coverage is always a mess
The defense missing tackles

Blaming Lutz is like Blaming Brees for the loss because of the sack fumble at the start

Well one could if so inclined. I think that's a mistake often committed by fans and media, trying to place blame on a specific situation, one mistake or big play etc. when in reality its the effort of the whole group that decides the outcome of a game.

And to be on topic. While 2/4 isn't much to write home about, having to try a 61 yarder to win the game in your very first NFL game is a little much. He got a cannon for a leg thou and I liked his maturity in the interview after the game. Might be a good one for us.

W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: LUTZ
