Embrace the drama, Saints fans: This is life in the NFL's middle class
"We had a guy behind us who made big plays all day long," right tackle Zach Strief said of Drew Brees' masterful 423-yard, four-touchdown performance. "We just needed to make one more. But we have to learn how to finish these games. That's something you have to learn. It's not something that just happens accidentally."
I get pissed off to the heights of pisstivity when I hear/read a professional player say they have to LEARN how to do something fundamental! Embrace the drama, Saints fans: This is life in the NFL's middle class | NOLA.com |

But we have to learn how to finish these games. When you have the other team down. Keep them down. Step on their neck, and break it.

Don't have a problem with anything he said as he was spot-on with his critique...
Read the article and he just recounted what happened and said when you have the self-inflicted problems, the games will come down to one play... He even acknowledge the crappy PI call against Robertson and how it shouldn't have come down to that call; and he's right... |

Beyond Jeff Duncan's political rant column about football player violence against women; BTW Jeff Duncan STFU and stop politicizing football; he wrote this piece of crap article asking Tom Benson to sell the Saints.
A few months later Benson was awarded by the court that he was SANE and owner of the team. Gail Benson is the PERFECT steward/owner of the Saints and the City of Nola to keep the team in Nola indefinitely. Duncan is a jerk - Selling Saints, Pelicans greatest gift Tom Benson can give New Orleans: Jeff Duncan | NOLA.com |

Re: Embrace the drama, Saints fans: This is life in the NFL's middle class
Duncan survived a savage round of layoffs and cutbacks at the Times Picayune/Nola.com by being contrarian against Payton/Loomis/Benson, and by being "controversial" in finger-quotes; when the paper's new management came in, they noted that his articles had lots of comments and generated lots of user response across social media platforms and websites like this one. So they decided to keep him on, while at the same time firing other sports beat writers from the paper, and gutting arts and leisure coverage, political coverage, and scaling back their hard news reporting....Duncan got the message and he knows where his bread and butter lies. WHAT he says is not important to his editors, it's the number of comments/links/clicks/posts that the article generates, creating traffic for the site....
That said, I think he was too generous to call the Saints "middle class." The Raiders are actually more like a "middle of the pack" team these days, and they just PUNCHED THE SAINTS IN THE MOUTH, in their own house. I can't disagree with Duncan on that. The Saints right now are a long way from being seriously competitive. |

Re: Embrace the drama, Saints fans: This is life in the NFL's middle class
I didn't see us get punched in the mouth at all. I saw us get exploited due to Breaux's injury and Moore not being ready as our #3 CB yet.
We did most of the punching through 3 quarters, 24-10 and they had only 143 yards. They stole it in the 4th when Breax went down. |
