It hasn't been all bad

Vilma was pretty good.
Lofton wasn't bad
Grubbs was solid
Jabari Greer was excellent
Keenan Lewis was a shut down corner until injuries
Randall Gay worked out well
Darren Sharper helped us get to the Super Bowl
Darren Sproles broke NFL records for the Saints
And we made out pretty well in the Jimmy Graham trade

God forbid if Ingram gets hurt then you have Hightower, Lasco, and those two clowns left. That won't scare nobody. Hightower is solid but no Spiller in the talent category thought they'd run him healthy to see if he'd pan out, i guess not, more dead money. Seems like they actually like having dead money hanging around every year

All but $5.6 million in dead money goes off the books at the end of this season. Not an issue going forward. Not that big of a deal at this point in time.

If he was a low salary player, would anyone be surprised?

Honestly? Not surprised by it even at his current salary. This is how they operate, and sitting him Sunday was way too weird, we all know it. The whole "didn't fit in the game plan" bit was nice window dressing, but it still smelled fishy. It's a shame this move never worked out. I really thought he could be a difference maker here.
