I would of released Laurinaitis before Spiller. He is like tits on bull.

He must do a better job at the MIKE position. Oakland really gave him the business.

The whole defense was hold up well till Breaux went down.

With Breaux in the side, the Saints gave up 255 total yards and 10 points in the first 39 1/2 minutes. Without him in the final 20 1/2 minutes, they allowed 231 yards and 25 points, capped by a two-point conversion to Michael Crabtree.

CJ is also not a young man and also prone to breaking. Maybe the reasoning is odds are he will go down out of all the RBs and we need the spot. And it looks like we will be getting involved in some serious air battles this season so likely more CB issues.

I think they should have let him be the return man. One of many screw up's by Payton and Loomis. When are they going to be held accountable for all the bad choices they have made. There should be outrage on this site and every other site for the bad choices this management team has made an how they have decimated this roster and not prepared for the future.

I still don't see how Murphy or Cadet are a better option in KR/PR & scat back than CJ. Can someone convince me please? And spare me the injury talk since All RBs get injured under this org.

uhm his last game we could have started any high school player in the state and did just as good.

Re: C.J. Spiller Released - Mistake or Necessity?

The problem is that CJ was a role player that we have always had if it wasn't Bush, it was Sproles... Cutting CJ we have no one that fits that role of a 3rd down back out of the backfield.

On the other hand we don't have a history letting players take up a roster spot if they are injured all the time. I don't know if they do that as a favor to the player because if you are injured all the time maybe the game is not for you or the game has past you...
