Just to put it in perspective, the Falcons were 5-7 in the red zone against the Saints the other night. That total number, 7, was the same number of red zone trips the Falcons had in their first two games, combined. That is just plain not good defense, if you are letting your opponent into the red zone seven times a night. |

Re: Looking at the games coming up
Honestly, though. Brees doesn't tend to step up until the second half of games. Constantly we are scoring below 20 points at halftime. The botched punt return fumble is what really affected that game and this sends the message that the defense has to bail out the offense's "mistakes". The longer you keep a team from scoring the more confused they will be. After all this is the belief that we can't keep playing well offensively from behind. But the other team can? If we are up 10-0 or 14-0 Atlanta does not win that game. We are making too many mistakes. And I feel that the defense is being asked to play well because the offense had a booboo. Oakland's offense is not as explosive as one thought. And Murray is not that good in ypc. Atlanta has a tandem which affects things much differently. Two times already the offense turns the ball over within the first two drives of the game before the other team has even moved the ball or scored. That needs to stop.

Oh and that pick six probably does not happen either. So yeah we definitely win that game without offensive mistakes.
